Our story

The wine cooperative of Montblanc started in 1937. It assembled 115 winegrowers from Montblanc and produced 9300 Hl (245 680 galons).

Illustrious beginnings

The cooperative was officially opened on 2nd July, 1939 by Albert Lebrun, President of the Republic. The cooperative’s president at the time was the illustrious local son Edouard Barthe, Mayor and Member of Parliament. He was nicknamed “the wine pope” because of his work to improve wine legistlation, in the National Assembly.
